Growing up in Germany, I was kind of an abnormality. While all my friends were dreaming about a Porsche, I was the one who wanted a Corvette! It was on a summer day in 1989 or so when I went for a drive through Port Dalhousie and saw a sign about a Corvette Show on Henley Island, needless to say that I had to go there. The first person I ever talked to from the Club was Tim Conway. I thought to myself, nice guy and nice cars, hence I joined the NCC the following year. At this point I didn’t own a Corvette!
I made my last wine delivery before Christmas to St. Catharines, the year was 1992. On my way home, I spotted a C4 Corvette for sale at Brian Cullens. After an inspection from Tim Conway, that was my first Corvette, a 1991 Convertible.
Meanwhile, I owned a 1977, two 1980’s, a 1966 Race Corvette and a 2003 Z06. The last two I still own. Not only do I drive the Corvettes, the 1977 was partially restored by me and the red 1980 was totally restored with my own hands, with the exception of the paint.
