GM revealed the 2025 Corvette ZR1 on July 25.
Currently there is a lot of information missing like most of the actual performance. I am sure GM has all the testing done, but are not giving out precise numbers. This will come later.
What we know is the following:
Engine: LT7 5.5l V8 twin turbo, flat plane crank rated at 1064 hp at 7000 rpm, 828 lb-ft of torque at 6000 rpm with an 8000 rpm redline.
Turbo max pressure: 20 psi.
Transmission: 8 speed double clutch.
Brakes: Carbon ceramic 15.7” front and 15.4” rears.
Top speed: 215+ mph.
Acceleration: Sub 10 seconds quarter mile.
The ZR1 can go from 80mph to 200mph and back to 80mph in 20 seconds.
With the ZTK package the spoiler makes up to 1200 lbs of downforce at top speed.
Inside there is a 12” programmable gauge display that includes a boost pressure gauge.
It has an 8” multimedia screen.
The new ZR1 coupe has a split window (the first time since 1963) with vents to help cool the engine bay.
In the convertible model the roof takes 16 seconds to open or close at up to 50km/hr.
The price has not been published but it is estimated that it will start around $225,000 cad for the base model to $315,000 cad for the top of the model.
I have included 2 videos where Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter explains the new 2025 C8 ZR1 engineering and performance. These give a lot of details on the car.
Hope you enjoy.
