Island Life in Fonthill
A taste of Hawaii was served up on Saturday, the 25th in Fonthill. Every guest was treated to a colourful lei hand-picked by the lovely Wendy Bas. Everyone really got into the island spirit, with grass skirts, flowers in their hair, short pants and the amazing Rick and Sue coconut shell and tattoo outfits. There were colourful shirts in abundance, and a few pairs of white pants that have been in hibernation for months.
The theme spread to the food which featured lots of pineapple, great salads, delicious sweet potatoes, meatballs, little sausages, and delicious desserts topped off with pineapple upside cake. It was quite a spread.
It wouldn’t be a Wendy party without a fun game, and Saturday was no exception. Wendy’s special version of Match Game featured a changing panel of celebrities, and pairs of contestants who had to fill in the missing word in a phrase that she had prepared, or complete a two word phrase. It was really funny to hear what the celebrities came up with, and the contestants did really well at find a match. Jan was the lucky winner, well done!
A fine time was had by all, even without the corvettes.
