Eighteen Club Corvettes joined in for a Fall Cruise organized by Kipp and Jann Battiston.
Club Members took their cars to Cayuga Dragway to run the quarter mile on a beautiful day. The sun warmed the track, and the cooler air made lots of horsepower. Ross Bone was the winner of the day with his C7 Z06, posting a very impressive elapsed time of 10.78 seconds at over 129 mph. His modifications include Kooks long tube stainless headers, full Borla exhaust, an AFE Cold air intake, and a performance computer tune.
For comparison to a stock Z06, Chevrolet claims the Z06 sprints through the benchmark 0-to-60-mph measure in just 2.95 seconds and that it annihilated the quarter-mile in an equally impressive 10.95 at 127 mph.
Several Club members took part in the Southcoast DreamDrive on Sept 21 and 22.
Club Members Stu and Lory organized a tremendous run through wine country on a cool but clear Sunday. The route followed winding roads across the Escarpment, with a few well-chosen stops for photo opportunities.
The President’s BBQ was held in July, with a challenging road route followed by food and drinks at the home of Steve and Natalie.
Club Members turned out for the Corvette Night in Port Colborne in August.
Over 30 Club member Corvettes attended the Niagara College Car Show on June 30th, with the Corvette Generations display once again proving to be a big hit with show goers.
On Monday June 24 2024, some members of the NCC attended our annual Ron Fellows driving experience at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
In 2023 when we attended this event the weather didn’t fully cooperate, and we had some rain, a fair bit of rain actually. Luckily this year the weather was perfect, and it was a beautiful sunny day.
After some in class session with Sam Fellows, attendees got a chance to race the Corvette C8 Z06, Cadillac Blackwing and Camaro ZL1.
The track conditions were perfect, and everybody keep the cars on the track. Only 1 Z06, driven by certain President we won’t mention came in smoking and leaking milky fluid everywhere. Other then that no cars were harmed on this day.
At the end of track time, we were given hot laps by the instructors which let you see just what the cars were really capable of. If it wasn’t for safety, I am sure there was still a little more they could do. Doing the hot lap humbled you that you are not nearly as good a driver as you thought. The instructors sure make it look easy and the skill they have is unbelievable.
As always, the day was finished off with a very nice catered dinner in the Grand Prix Event Center followed by birthday cake to Celebrate Nelson’s 50th Birthday.
A big Thank you to the Fellow’s family, Ron, Linda, Sam and Patrick for a great day! Also, a big Thank you to their drivers and staff for all they do.
For those that have attended before you know what an exciting event this is. If you did not get a chance to sign up this year but would like to do this event in the future, plan to attend in 2025, as we hope to keep this an annual event.
This event is one of those items that is a bucket list for a lot of people. It’s a very fun day and if you haven’t attended before it is something that you should consider. Some people fear they don’t have the skill, but it really is for anybody. The staff makes sure everybody from the first timer to the ones with track time are safe, comfortable and have a great time.
This is one time you really get a chance to see what these cars can do without the fear of seeing the flashing lights in the rear-view mirror.

NCC Vice president
Club Members took 9 Corvettes to the Grand Bend Motorplex for a 3 hour private track session on June 11th. With perfect weather, the members took to the track to test their skills and comfort levels. The track features lots of sharp turns and a straightaway that had many of the Corvettes hitting 200 Km/h.
Excellent work by the track officials kept the Vettes well-spaced, but allowed for safe passing on the straight sections.
Another popular Tech Session was held at Cullen Motors on Saturday April 27th, with good attendance by our members. Service Manager Steve Misir provided a detailed presentation highlighting service and warranty items for C8 Corvettes, and touched upon questions raised by Club members about other Corvette service concerns.
