Brown Homestead Tour / Cars and Coffee

We will enjoy a one hour private tour of the Brown Homestead at 1317 Pelham Road, St. Catharines at 10 am, through the John Brown House and around the property to the heritage buildings on site. Tours are conversational and interactive. We focus on the story of what brought the Loyalist Brown family to settle here, how they built the house, and the family farm that operated here. We explore the other families that lived here, and also give you a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the ongoing restoration of the site – what we’ve uncovered and the heritage craftsmanship of the home.

The tour is free for our group, the staff has suggested a voluntary donation of $5 per member to support their preservation efforts.

We will then head down Effingham Street for a short drive to the Sons and Daughters Winery at 1389 Effingham St, Ridgeville for wine tastings and by-the-glass available, the cafe will be open, and will very likely have the pizza oven up and running as well.

The starting location for this tour is the usual parking lot in front of the Bulk Barn at Fourth Avenue and Vansickle Road (near Walmart and Canadian Tire) at 9:30 am on Sunday June 15^th.

Please arrive early, as we will be departing on time for the short drive to the Brown Homestead.
