The C3 Corvette was produced from 1968 to 1982. The body style and engine choices went through a number of changes in that time period, with the models from 1976 to 1979 having very high sales volumes. These models were built at the St. Louis, Missouri factory, before production moved to Kentucky in 1982.
Dennis Roy is the proud owner of the 1978 model shown here, which has been a 3 time award winner at the Niagara Corvette Club Show and Shine car show.
After watching the Barrett Jackson car auctions, Dennis decided to search the web for Corvettes for sale in his area, as the time was right after his retirement to get the car he always wanted. He found the 1978 in Ridgeway just 15 minutes from his home, although the car originally came from the London area. He bought the car in February of 2021, and the owner agreed to keep it in his garage until spring when the weather was good enough for a test drive. He picked it up in March, and the car had been 90 percent restored, with new paint, new interior, new trim, weather stripping, chrome wheels, and more.
It is a 1978 25th anniversary Nassau Blue with glass T-top roof panels, interior oyster and white seats and dash, and dark blue carpets.
The 350 cubic inch L48 engine was rebuilt by Ken Cosgrove in 2022 to add some extra horsepower, with aluminum heads and intake, street cam, holley fuel injection system, and headers with stainless steel exhaust.
It also features a 3 speed automatic transmission, power windows with A/C, and chrome wheels.
