SUMMARY:February Club Meeting
DESCRIPTION:This is a reminder of the next Club meeting on Tuesday Feb 4th at 7 pm. Please review the updated Meeting Notice below\, as it contains additional information and photos (as well as maps).\n\nWe will have Club Members available in Parking Lot C3 and inside the Commons Entrance to help guide you to the Food Court and Lecture Room S135 that will be using for the meeting. We recommend that you arrive at 5:30 pm if you wish to have a meal at The Core restaurant\, or arrive at 6 pm or thereafter to purchase food\, snacks and drinks in the Food Court area. The Food Court seating area is a great place to sit and socialize with other Club members\, before moving over to the meeting room for 7 pm. You are welcome to head directly to the meeting room when you arrive\, as we have the full use of the facilities for the entire night.\n\nFor those members looking for a more formal place to eat before arriving at Niagara College\, we suggest trying Boston Pizza or M.T. Bellies on Niagara Street near Quaker Road\, or Chuck’s Roadhouse Bar & Grill at 647 Niagara Street\, just south of Woodlawn Road.\n\nWe look forward to seeing everyone. We have a full calendar of events to present and discuss\, as well as some new initiatives that will be included in the year ahead.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe’re pleased to let you know that we will be holding the next Club meeting on Tuesday February 4th at 7 pm at the Niagara College Welland Campus. The Campus is located at 100 Niagara College Boulevard and is accessible from Woodlawn Road\, First Avenue\, and Rice Road. Enter by the Main Entrance\, the Campus Entrance (follow the North Road)\, the West Entrance\, or the Chippawayan Blvd Entrance\, only westbound from Woodlawn Road. Easy access is from Hwy 406 from the north or south across Woodlawn Road\, or from Niagara Street or South Pelham Road\, south of Regional Road 20. \nThe Club Executive has reviewed a large number of potential locations to hold our monthly meetings in 2025\, and the offering from Niagara College was exceptional. They have offered us absolutely free use of Lecture Room S135 adjacent to the Cafeteria and the Commons Entrance (please refer to the maps and photos included below). This also includes free parking after 5 pm in Lot C2 and C3\, which is safeguarded by Security Personnel and cameras. For reference\, these lots are to the Northeast of Lot D\, where the Niagara College Car Show was held last year. \nThe parking lot C3 is just a short walk to the Commons Entrance that leads into the Food Court/Cafeteria\, and there is a circular driveway/drop off area on the North Road beside the doors\, as shown below: \n \nAs in the photo below\, the Commons Entrance leads into a large seating area right next to the Food Court\, which features Tim Hortons\, Subway\, Pizza Pizza and others. \n \nThere is also an onsite restaurant The Core (in the Student Centre) near the Athletic Entrance that will be available to us throughout the year. The Core is Room Number SA100\, and can be entered by the door shown below\, which is just a short walk past the Food Court\, to the left. \n \nWe recommend that you arrive at the Campus and park in Lot C3 at 6 pm or thereafter\, as that will allow you plenty of time to get a coffee\, or a drink\, or a snack in the Food Court\, and then sit down and socialize with other Club Members in the generous seating area of the Cafeteria. If you wish to have a meal at The Core (seating and menus shown below)\, you should preferably arrive between 5:30 and 6 pm. \n \n \nAs in the photo below\, the short hallway directly beside the Wellness Lounge (this is just a few steps from the Commons Entrance\, across from the computer screen shown below) leads down to Lecture Room S135\, with washrooms located at the opposite end of the hall. \n \nDirectly inside the first door of Room S135 will be our usual layout of name badges\, club information\, and tickets. The room itself has tremendous acoustics\, and also features a multimedia display screen and audio system.  There is a generous amount of seating in an ampitheatre format. The room is reserved for our use\, and requires no set up or teardown. Food and drinks are permitted; we just ask that you clean up any items that you bring in. \nNote – As the Niagara College facility has numerous food options available\, we will not be providing snacks and drinks in the Lecture room\, so please arrive early and make use of the Food Court offerings. \nThe meeting will start at 7 pm\, so please make your way from the Food Court before that time. \n \nWe’re looking forward to seeing as many Members as possible at this first meeting of 2025. We will be holding the Free Membership Draw for those members who have paid their 2025 membership amount by Dec 31st\, 2024. \nThanks \nCraig Gemmel\nTreasurer\nNiagara Corvette Club

SUMMARY:Concert and Dinner Event
DESCRIPTION:If you enjoy music\, live concerts and especially Eagles music\, this is a concert you won’t want to miss.  Epic Eagles are a local Eagles Tribute Band that have played across Canada\, USA locations and cruise ships.  Their leader Dean Young is a Fort Erie resident\, and they did this show in 2023 as a fundraiser for the community and are doing it again.  In 2023 we had 30 of our NCC members attend the dinner and the show \nThis concert will be Friday February 7 at a great venue right in Fort Erie.  They are giving the Niagara Corvette Club a 20% group discount. \nIf you would like to attend\, please contact us for the discount code or check your previous email newsletter from the club (sent on December 18th). \nWe’re also planning dinner before the event at the Barrel Restaurant in Fort Erie at 224 Garrison Rd\, Fort Erie in their private room. \nThe concert starts at 7 pm\, so to ensure we have time for dinner we plan to meet at the restaurant by 5 pm.  Details to follow. \nFollowing is the link to use to book your seats.  We do not have a block of seats\, so just select your favourite location. \nhttps://www.ticketscene.ca/events/48986/ \nMake sure to bring your tickets to the show! \nOnce you’ve booked\, please send John Mytroen an Email at john.mytroen@gmail.com to let him know that you will be attending the concert\, and if you would also like to attend the dinner. SUMMARY:Annual General Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Club meetings will be held on the first Tuesday of each month (unless otherwise specified) at 7:30 pm at the Niagara College Welland Campus. \nMeetings will be held in Lecture Room S135\, adjacent to the Cafeteria and the Commons Entrance (please refer to the maps and photos included below). This also includes free parking after 5 pm in Lot C2 and C3\, which is safeguarded by Security Personnel and cameras. For reference\, these lots are to the Northeast of Lot D\, where the Niagara College Car Show was held last year. \nThe parking lot C3 is just a short walk to the Commons Entrance that leads into the Food Court/Cafeteria\, and there is a circular driveway/drop off area on the North Road beside the doors\, as shown below: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nAs in the photo below\, the Commons Entrance leads into a large seating area right next to the Food Court\, which features Tim Hortons\, Subway\, Pizza Pizza and others. \n \n \nFor those members looking for a more formal place to eat before arriving at Niagara College\, we suggest trying Boston Pizza or M.T. Bellies on Niagara Street near Quaker Road\, or Chuck’s Roadhouse Bar & Grill at 647 Niagara Street\, just south of Woodlawn Road. \nAs in the photo below\, the short hallway directly beside the Wellness Lounge (this is just a few steps from the Commons Entrance\, across from the computer screen shown below) leads down to Lecture Room S135\, with washrooms located at the opposite end of the hall. \nThe meeting will start at 7:30 pm\, so please make your way from the Food Court before that time. \n \n

SUMMARY:Grand Bend Track Day: Exclusive Track Rental for NCC Members at Grand Bend Motorplex
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday June 10th\, 2025 – 2 to 5 pm raceway rental \nWe have another great opportunity this year to take your Corvette out on the technical track (road course) in a controlled environment with your fellow Club members. \nThe track is fully staffed with a Marshall and corner workers\, and we limit the number of cars at a time to approximately 6 Corvettes. Our target group size for this event is 12 cars\, although we could allow for 14 in total. This sets the cost per car at just over $100.00 for the event\, which is a great value for a private track rental that provides everyone with a tremendous amount of track time. \nEach group of cars typically stays out on the track for 15 to 20 minutes at a time\, after which you will want to pull back into the pits and cool yourself and the car down. Entry is controlled by the Marshall\, but you can exit at any time. Passing and corner rules are to be strictly followed\, and drivers are allowed to proceed around the course at their own comfort level. Passengers are allowed in the vehicle on the track (no extra cost for passengers and spectators)\, although helmets are required for all participants. \nThere is enough track time available that we may allocate a session for those who really want to test the limits of their Corvette. \n \nOur group would meet at Prudhommes Landing around 9 am for the 2-1/2 hour drive to Grand Bend. Same as last year\, a large group from the Corvette Club of Ontario is on the track before us\, so arriving early provides a great opportunity to watch them in action on the track and socialize with a lot of Corvette enthusiasts. \nClub members who would like to join in the drive to Grand Bend and watch the track event\, without taking their Corvette on the track\, are welcome to do so without any cost. Please email me separately at events@niagaracorvetteclub.com to indicate your interest in just the drive and being a spectator. \nPlease use the RSVP link to sign up for this event. Just enter 1 Guest for yourself\, as we don’t need to know how many passengers/spectators are attending. Once the total number of attendees is confirmed\, payment and event details will be provided. \nAny Club members who are planning on attending the Windsor Corvette Show on June 8 may choose to stay over and drive directly to Grand Bend on June 10. Please let me know if you are doing this\, so we can plan our group size from Prudhommes Landing. \nPlease contact Craig Gemmel at events@niagaracorvetteclub.com with any questions.

SUMMARY:Brown Homestead Tour / Cars and Coffee
DESCRIPTION:We will enjoy a one hour private tour of the Brown Homestead at 1317 Pelham Road\, St. Catharines at 10 am\, through the John Brown House and around the property to the heritage buildings on site. Tours are conversational and interactive. We focus on the story of what brought the Loyalist Brown family to settle here\, how they built the house\, and the family farm that operated here. We explore the other families that lived here\, and also give you a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the ongoing restoration of the site – what we’ve uncovered and the heritage craftsmanship of the home. \nThe tour is free for our group\, the staff has suggested a voluntary donation of $5 per member to support their preservation efforts. \nWe will then head down Effingham Street for a short drive to the Sons and Daughters Winery at 1389 Effingham St\, Ridgeville for wine tastings and by-the-glass available\, the cafe will be open\, and will very likely have the pizza oven up and running as well. \nhttps://www.sonsdaughterswinery.com/ \nThe starting location for this tour is the usual parking lot in front of the Bulk Barn at Fourth Avenue and Vansickle Road (near Walmart and Canadian Tire) at 9:30 am on Sunday June 15th. \nPlease arrive early\, as we will be departing on time for the short drive to the Brown Homestead. \nPlease use the RSVP link below to sign up for this event. Space is limited for this tour. \nAs always\, please enter 1 Guest if you are attending the event on your own\, or enter 2 guests if your spouse or partner is also attending. \nBe sure to frequently take a look at the full Calendar of Events on the website for other events and cruises and car shows that you may wish to also participate in.

SUMMARY:John Sawicki Celebration of Life
DESCRIPTION:Sat June 21st from 2 to 5 pm at the Niagara College – Niagara-On-The-Lake Campus \nJohn Sawicki was a long time member of the Niagara Corvette Club. John passed away peacefully at home on October 23\, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was a cherished partner to wife Kristal Doyle for almost 22 years. \nThere will be a Celebration of Life in his honour at the Armoury Pub at the Niagara-On-The-Lake Campus of the Niagara College. Please see the attached maps for buildings and parking. \nAs that morning is also the day of our Club Rally and BBQ Lunch\, we will be organizing a Corvette Parade from Club Capri down the Welland Canal and across Glendale Ave to the Niagara Campus before 2 pm that day. We encourage the members participating in the Club Rally to join in the Parade. \nWe also encourage other members to join in the Parade along the Glendale route (a good waiting spot is across from General Motors in the empty lot)\, or meet up with our Club Members at the Armoury Pub.

SUMMARY:SOLD OUT: Ron Fellows Driving Experience
DESCRIPTION:The Ron Fellows driving experience is now open to non NCC members. If you have any family or friends that would like to attend this event please have them contact Kipp Battiston at battistonkipp@hotmail.com. \n\nWe will once again be doing the Ron Fellows Driving Experience for 2025. We have secured Monday\, June 23\, 2025. \nFor those that have attended before\, you know what a great time this is. For those that haven’t been or heard of this event\, here is a quick breakdown. \nThis is a 1-day event held at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville. You will have the opportunity to drive the Corvette C8\, Camaro ZL1 and Cadillac Blackwing CT5V and CT4V. When the driving portion is done\, if you feel up to it you can do a hot-lap ride with the pro drivers. The day is then ended with a very nice catered dinner and open bar. If you are going as a spouse only and not a driver\, obviously you don’t get to drive the cars\, but you still spend the day trackside\, can still do the hot lap with the pro driver\, and of course get the dinner. \nWe were once again able to secure the GM discount through Brian Cullen Motors\, so we are getting a deal. Unlike everything else that has gone up\, we have the same rate as 2024. The cost this year is $1332.96 (including the tax) for a driver and $226 (again including the tax) for a spouse/friend to attend. \nAs in previous years\, we have 18 spots available. This will be a first come\, first served basis. \nPlease use this RSVP link on the Niagara Corvette Club website to enter your name and email address\, and whether you are attending by yourself (1 Guest) or with a Spouse/Partner (2 Guests). \nLike last year the track is requiring that we put down a 50% deposit to hold our date (just for driver’s fees\, not the guests). I will either be collecting half from you ($666.48) when you sign up and the other half closer to the date\, or you can pay the full amount now if you prefer to just do it in one step. \nOnce your registration is confirmed\, you will be contacted and asked to send an eTransfer payment to battistonkipp@hotmail.com. \nIf you have any questions\, please don’t hesitate to contact me. \nRegards\, \nKipp Battiston \n905-351-9413 \nbattistonkipp@hotmail.com
