SUMMARY:Port Dover Garage Tours and Lunch
DESCRIPTION:Our Corvette cruise will depart from the Boggio Fonthill Pharmacy & Log Cabin Gift Shoppe at 155 Hwy 20 W in Fonthill at 9 am for a 70-minute drive to Port Dover. \nThere will be a short rest break at Rich and Val Hahn’s house (499 Nelson Street West\, Port Dover)\, and then we will drive a scenic back roads route to our garage tours. We will have a unique opportunity to view 2 impressive private car collections around the Port Dover area. This includes Steve Czerlau’s collection of Corvettes\, Chevelles and an assortment of Classic GM Mid 60’s cars\, just a short distance from Rich and Val’s home. From there we will take a cruise to Mike Yarek’s country home to view his collection of Dodge muscle cars. (Mike is the owner of the Chrysler dealership in Paris) \nWe will then head over to Long Point Eco-Adventures at 1730 Front Rd. St. Williams\, ON for lunch. \n Members are responsible for the cost of their drinks and meals. \nMembers can choose to head home after lunch or continue back to Port Dover to check out the various shops. \nRich and Val will then be pleased to host everyone at their home on Lake Erie after the tour. DESCRIPTION:We are in the planning stages for a road trip to the Atlantic Nationals Car Show. \nhttps://atlanticnationals.com/ \nThere will be many options available for travel routes to the show\, and hotels/motels in Moncton. Many of our Club Members may choose to extend their trip with further destinations in the Atlantic Provinces\, or plan their own route home. \nOne possible plan is to take 2 days and 1 night to reach Moncton\, stay 3 nights in Moncton with 2 to 3 days at the car show\, or visiting other sightseeing attractions\, and then depart on July 19th per member’s personal travel preferences. \nThe Niagara Corvette Club will reserve blocks of rooms at motels/hotels in Quebec and New Brunswick\, based on the number of Members who indicate their intention to take part in this trip. \nRSVPs are requested by March 6th to allow us to book sufficient rooms. \nMembers may purchase their car show entrance tickets online after our trip numbers and motel bookings are confirmed. \nPlease use the Niagara Corvette Club RSVP link below to sign up for this event. SUMMARY:Classic Corvette Showcase
DESCRIPTION:The Niagara Corvette Club would like to invite our Members\, fellow Corvette Clubs and all Corvette enthusiasts to our annual Corvette show this summer which will be held on Saturday August 8th\, 2026. \nThis year’s show is going to be a little different than in past years. For 2026\, we are looking at showcasing the early days of Corvette by focusing on C1\, C2 and C3 models\, with special display parking for those cars. \nPlease register your C1\, C2 or C3 Corvette on our website here to reserve a parking space. \nAlthough this year we are highlighting these 3 generations\, the show is still about the Corvette\, and all generations of Corvettes are encouraged and welcome to attend. In addition\, this year’s show has a new venue. The show will be held at Club Capri located at 36 Cleveland St\, Thorold. \nThis Corvette show is not a sanctioned judging event\, and as in past years there is no requirement to have your car judged. If you do choose to\, then for C1 to C3 models\, it will be a point system\, and for C4 to C8\, it will be people’s choice. Our traditional Piston Trophies will be awarded for Best in Class in each of the C1 to C3 Generations\, and a new plaque design will be awarded for Best in Class in each of the C4 to C8 Generations. In addition\, a Best in Show trophy will be awarded to the highest scoring Corvette in the C1 to C3 classes\, and in the C4 to C8 classes. \nIt’s only $20 for your Corvette entrance and as always\, spectators are free. Come on out and enjoy the food\, music\, 50/50\, raffles and prizes and most importantly check out all the beautiful Corvettes that we all love. As the Niagara Corvette Club has done for over 50 years\, all proceeds raised are donated to the Niagara Children’s Centre. \nPlease enter the Club Capri parking lot from Cleveland St\, accessible from Richmond St\, or from Lyndon St W from the Pine St S end. SUMMARY:Cruise and Tour of Ruthven Park National Historic Site and Lunch
DESCRIPTION:Ruthven Park National Historic Site is a remarkably intact 1\,500-acre country estate located along the Grand River in Cayuga\, Ontario\, that chronicles five generations of the prominent Thompson family. Formally established in the mid-1840s\, the estate reflects the political\, military\, and commercial evolution of 19th-century Upper Canada.   \nThe Thompson Dynasty (1840s–1993)  \n\nDavid Thompson I: A Scottish descendant and War of 1812 veteran\, he built his wealth as a contractor on the Welland Canal and a primary promoter of the Grand River Navigation Company. He secured approximately 1\,200 acres from the Crown to anchor his business enterprises.\nThe Mansion (1845–1847): Thompson commissioned master builder John Latshaw to construct a majestic 33-room\, 10\,200-square-foot Greek Revival villa made of ashlar limestone. It is widely considered Latshaw’s residential masterpiece.\n\nThe Landscape and The Ghost Town of Indiana \nThe estate was masterfully modeled on the 19th-century British Picturesque style\, intentionally blending structural elegance with raw nature. It features sweeping lawns\, a family cemetery\, a red-brick gatehouse (c. 1867)\, and outbuildings arranged around an enclosed central courtyard. \nDirectly north of the mansion lie the archaeological remnants of Indiana\, a once-booming 19th-century industrial town. Founded around David Thompson’s regional milling businesses\, Indiana thrived via river locks and dams. However\, the bankruptcy of the Grand River Navigation Company in 1861\, coupled with new railway lines bypassing the area\, caused Indiana to decline into a ghost town by 1905. \n\n\n\nMilestone Year \nHistorical Designation & Preservation Details\n\n\n1995\nOfficially designated a National Historic Site of Canada for its rare\, complete cultural landscape.\n\n\n1996\nThe Ontario Heritage Trust secured a heritage easement to permanently protect the villa and surrounding scenery.\n\n\nPresent\nOwned and operated by The Lower Grand River Land Trust Inc. It serves the public as a museum\, historical archive\, and environmental reserve protecting critical Carolinian slough forests.\n\n\n\nThe Niagara Corvette Club has arranged a private 45 minute tour for our group at 11 am on Sunday August 16th. \nWe currently have room for 20 to 30 Members on this tour. If there is sufficient interest\, we can try to book a second tour. \nAfter the tour of Ruthven\, we will cruise to Caledonia on the Grand River and have lunch at The Real Hammer Hogs BBQ\, where we ate on a previous Grand River Fall tour. \nWe will then return back to Niagara along a scenic route on the south side of the Grand River\, crossing at Dunnville. \nPlease use the RSVP button below to sign up for this tour. On Sunday August 23rd\, we will have an opportunity to enjoy all three at Sons and Daughters Winery at 1389 Effingham St\, Ridgeville. We have reserved the big table indoors but there is also lots of seating outside. It was such a great experience last year\, hope to see you there. \nBut that’s not all! The cruise will start at the Bulk Barn parking lot on Fourth Avenue at Vansickle Road in St. Catharines at 10 am and head along RR 81 (St Paul St W) to the Ball’s Falls Conservation Area in Jordan\, where we will have a guided 45 minute walking tour of the Heritage Village\, the grounds\, and the Ball’s Falls viewing area. \nThose members who prefer not to join the walking tour can stroll the grounds on their own\, and relax at the Visitor Centre. \n \nOnce you have signed up for this event\, you can email Maria at social@niagaracorvetteclub.com with your pizza choice or Charcuterie\, so that food orders can be planned in advance. DESCRIPTION:Dear Members\, \nThe road to the 2027 Niagara Corvette Club Calendar begins this September! \nWe are excited to invite you to the first of a few photo shoots\, where we will be showcasing our Corvettes against some of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s most beautiful winery settings. \nThis is your opportunity to have high quality photographs taken of your Corvette for free\, which you can then select to place in the Niagara Corvette Club Calendar we will again be producing this Fall. \nSaturday\, September 5 \n8:30 – 10:30 a.m. \nOur morning will begin at: \nStone Eagle Winery\n2080 Niagara Stone Road\n8:30 a.m. \nFrom there\, we will cross the road to: \nStratus Vineyards\n2059 Niagara Stone Road \nAnd\, time permitting\, we will finish at: \nJackson-Triggs Niagara Estate Winery\n2145 Niagara Stone Road \nWe will make every effort to photograph all participating Corvettes at each location\, provided time allows. We will necessarily limit the number of cars in each session. \nCapturing the Cars \nWe are pleased to have Ryan Kemp behind the camera once again\, bringing his eye for photography to this year’s calendar. \nThe shoots are scheduled before the wineries open at 11:00 a.m.\, giving us a quieter setting and the opportunity to capture our Corvettes in some truly beautiful surroundings. \nIf you have a particular location\, view\, or backdrop in mind\, we encourage you to visit the wineries ahead of time and let us know where you would like your Corvette photographed. \nIn addition\, Ryan will be pleased to offer a full high definition photo package of your Corvette at an additional cost. Over 15 regional bands will perform throughout our legendary bars and restaurants (all free of charge)\, and on Sunday you’ll hear the roar of a LOT of engines. \nOn Sunday the annual car and truck show\, featuring over 200 vehicles\, will take place on the Village Streets from noon until 5 PM. The classes have changed this year\, so registrants- please keep that in mind when you register! \nWe will hold the Award Ceremony for Best in Show at 3 pm at the Village Gazebo. We’ll also have a People’s Choice Award this year. In order to make sure we have space for everyone in the show\, we can’t allow any registrations the day of the show. \nRock N’ Roll Weekend has been an annual event in our community for over 20 years. DESCRIPTION:Our 2026 Calendar Promotion sold over 80 Calendars\, and raised significant funds for the Niagara Children’s Centre. \nThe 2027 calendar offering will continue to use high quality photos of 12 Corvettes owned within our Club\, including a Corvette Generations 8 month section. \nWe have revised and enlarged the format to a premium glossy 12 x 18 inch cardstock\, coil bound at the top\, with a drilled hole at the top for hanging. We have added Prior and Next Month images in the bottom panel. DESCRIPTION:The Southcoast Dream Cruise has been taking place for a number of years along Hwy 3. Participants can choose to drive any portion of the route\, and stop at any of the arranged events. DESCRIPTION:The NCC 2026 Car Rally will be held on Sunday October 4th\, starting at the Bulk Barn parking lot on Fourth Avenue at Vansickle Road in St. Catharines and ending with lunch at Betty’s Restaurant at 8921 Sodom Rd\, Niagara Falls. \nWe will start the rally at approximately 10:30 am. Cars will be instructed to leave every few minutes. This is not a competitive rally. \nThis car rally is not a race and is intended for the fun of each driver and navigator.  The route should take a little over an hour to complete and has been selected for all members to enjoy some of our most picturesque back roads in Niagara. \nYour directions sheet will have questions that will need to be answered and recorded along the way. DESCRIPTION:The October meeting will be a dinner event and will be held at Club Capri at 36 Cleveland St in Thorold on Tuesday October 6th. This is the same location as the August Classic Corvette Showcase car show. There is easy access from Hwy 406 and Hwy 58 at Pine St. \nThe meeting will feature a private buffet style dinner with a variety of pizza choices (vegetarian and gluten free available)\, chicken wings\, salad\, tea and coffee\, and dessert. A cash bar will be available. The event will start at 6 pm with food service from 6:15 to 7:30. \nThe Niagara Corvette Club is subsidizing part of the cost of the meal (taxes and facility services and gratuity) as a thank you to everyone for your support and assistance with our Car Show. \nThe cost of the meal per member is $25.00. We require a firm head count ASAP to set up the dining space and determine the size of the food order. Please use the RSVP link to sign up for the meal\, and then send an eTransfer to treasurer@niagaracorvetteclub.com for the total cost of the meal(s) for you and your Affiliate Member.
