SUMMARY:Corvette Museum Cruise
DESCRIPTION:As the saying on the museum site says\, “All roads lead to Bowling Green Kentucky.” \nMost Corvette owners are aware 2024 marks the 30th Anniversary of the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green Kentucky.  Every 5 years the museum puts on a big event and the 30th is one of those special years. \nIn 2019 we had about 6 couples from the NCC head down to the museum for the 25th anniversary. For 2024 we have about 11 couples signed up to head down and attend the 30th. This will be a very entertaining event and seeing that many Corvettes together (they are expecting close to 10\,000) is something you don’t forget. \nJust like in 2019 we will again be joining up with the OHIO club and caravanning down together picking up other clubs along the way. \nPlans are subject to change but at the moment some members we will leave Canada Monday Aug 26/24 and some on Tuesday Aug 27/24 and head down to OHIO to spend the night. The OHIO club is planning a banquet dinner for Tuesday night at our hotel. Wednesday morning\, we will meet up at Serpentini Chevrolet for breakfast before starting the journey to Bowling Green. Thursday and Friday we will be attending all the events at the Museum with the main attraction getting to tour the museum itself. It’s amazing all the cars and memorabilia they have on display. Anything you could possibility want to know about the history of our favourite car is there. \nBefore heading back to Canada on Sunday some of the group will head over Saturday to drive Tail of the Dragon\, a very well-known 11 mile road for sports cars and motorcycles.  Tail of the Dragon (aka US129) is undergoing extensive repairs this spring and is getting repaved. The job is supposed to be done in 35 days once started but we all know how construction projects go. Luckily\, they are starting early enough; it should be completed well before our arrival in August. \nThis big museum event only happens every 5 years. What better way to attend the museum than with 10\,000 other Corvettes. There is still time to join in. If not\, you will have to wait till 2029 for the next big event\, which will be the 35th Anniversary.

SUMMARY:February Club Meeting
DESCRIPTION:This is a reminder of the next Club meeting on Tuesday Feb 4th at 7 pm. Please review the updated Meeting Notice below\, as it contains additional information and photos (as well as maps).\n\nWe will have Club Members available in Parking Lot C3 and inside the Commons Entrance to help guide you to the Food Court and Lecture Room S135 that will be using for the meeting. We recommend that you arrive at 5:30 pm if you wish to have a meal at The Core restaurant\, or arrive at 6 pm or thereafter to purchase food\, snacks and drinks in the Food Court area. The Food Court seating area is a great place to sit and socialize with other Club members\, before moving over to the meeting room for 7 pm. You are welcome to head directly to the meeting room when you arrive\, as we have the full use of the facilities for the entire night.\n\nFor those members looking for a more formal place to eat before arriving at Niagara College\, we suggest trying Boston Pizza or M.T. Bellies on Niagara Street near Quaker Road\, or Chuck’s Roadhouse Bar & Grill at 647 Niagara Street\, just south of Woodlawn Road.\n\nWe look forward to seeing everyone. We have a full calendar of events to present and discuss\, as well as some new initiatives that will be included in the year ahead.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe’re pleased to let you know that we will be holding the next Club meeting on Tuesday February 4th at 7 pm at the Niagara College Welland Campus. The Campus is located at 100 Niagara College Boulevard and is accessible from Woodlawn Road\, First Avenue\, and Rice Road. Enter by the Main Entrance\, the Campus Entrance (follow the North Road)\, the West Entrance\, or the Chippawayan Blvd Entrance\, only westbound from Woodlawn Road. Easy access is from Hwy 406 from the north or south across Woodlawn Road\, or from Niagara Street or South Pelham Road\, south of Regional Road 20. \nThe Club Executive has reviewed a large number of potential locations to hold our monthly meetings in 2025\, and the offering from Niagara College was exceptional. They have offered us absolutely free use of Lecture Room S135 adjacent to the Cafeteria and the Commons Entrance (please refer to the maps and photos included below). This also includes free parking after 5 pm in Lot C2 and C3\, which is safeguarded by Security Personnel and cameras. For reference\, these lots are to the Northeast of Lot D\, where the Niagara College Car Show was held last year. \nThe parking lot C3 is just a short walk to the Commons Entrance that leads into the Food Court/Cafeteria\, and there is a circular driveway/drop off area on the North Road beside the doors\, as shown below: \n \nAs in the photo below\, the Commons Entrance leads into a large seating area right next to the Food Court\, which features Tim Hortons\, Subway\, Pizza Pizza and others. \n \nThere is also an onsite restaurant The Core (in the Student Centre) near the Athletic Entrance that will be available to us throughout the year. The Core is Room Number SA100\, and can be entered by the door shown below\, which is just a short walk past the Food Court\, to the left. \n \nWe recommend that you arrive at the Campus and park in Lot C3 at 6 pm or thereafter\, as that will allow you plenty of time to get a coffee\, or a drink\, or a snack in the Food Court\, and then sit down and socialize with other Club Members in the generous seating area of the Cafeteria. If you wish to have a meal at The Core (seating and menus shown below)\, you should preferably arrive between 5:30 and 6 pm. \n \n \nAs in the photo below\, the short hallway directly beside the Wellness Lounge (this is just a few steps from the Commons Entrance\, across from the computer screen shown below) leads down to Lecture Room S135\, with washrooms located at the opposite end of the hall. \n \nDirectly inside the first door of Room S135 will be our usual layout of name badges\, club information\, and tickets. The room itself has tremendous acoustics\, and also features a multimedia display screen and audio system.  There is a generous amount of seating in an ampitheatre format. The room is reserved for our use\, and requires no set up or teardown. Food and drinks are permitted; we just ask that you clean up any items that you bring in. \nNote – As the Niagara College facility has numerous food options available\, we will not be providing snacks and drinks in the Lecture room\, so please arrive early and make use of the Food Court offerings. \nThe meeting will start at 7 pm\, so please make your way from the Food Court before that time. \n \nWe’re looking forward to seeing as many Members as possible at this first meeting of 2025. We will be holding the Free Membership Draw for those members who have paid their 2025 membership amount by Dec 31st\, 2024. \nThanks \nCraig Gemmel\nTreasurer\nNiagara Corvette Club

SUMMARY:Grand Bend Track Day: Exclusive Track Rental for NCC Members at Grand Bend Motorplex
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday June 10th\, 2025 – 2 to 5 pm raceway rental \nWe have another great opportunity this year to take your Corvette out on the technical track (road course) in a controlled environment with your fellow Club members. \nThe track is fully staffed with a Marshall and corner workers\, and we limit the number of cars at a time to approximately 6 Corvettes. Our target group size for this event is 12 cars\, although we could allow for 14 in total. This sets the cost per car at just over $100.00 for the event\, which is a great value for a private track rental that provides everyone with a tremendous amount of track time. \nEach group of cars typically stays out on the track for 15 to 20 minutes at a time\, after which you will want to pull back into the pits and cool yourself and the car down. Entry is controlled by the Marshall\, but you can exit at any time. Passing and corner rules are to be strictly followed\, and drivers are allowed to proceed around the course at their own comfort level. Passengers are allowed in the vehicle on the track (no extra cost for passengers and spectators)\, although helmets are required for all participants. \nThere is enough track time available that we may allocate a session for those who really want to test the limits of their Corvette. \n \nOur group would meet at Prudhommes Landing around 9 am for the 2-1/2 hour drive to Grand Bend. Same as last year\, a large group from the Corvette Club of Ontario is on the track before us\, so arriving early provides a great opportunity to watch them in action on the track and socialize with a lot of Corvette enthusiasts. \nClub members who would like to join in the drive to Grand Bend and watch the track event\, without taking their Corvette on the track\, are welcome to do so without any cost. Please email me separately at events@niagaracorvetteclub.com to indicate your interest in just the drive and being a spectator. \nPlease use the RSVP link to sign up for this event. Just enter 1 Guest for yourself\, as we don’t need to know how many passengers/spectators are attending. Once the total number of attendees is confirmed\, payment and event details will be provided. \nAny Club members who are planning on attending the Windsor Corvette Show on June 8 may choose to stay over and drive directly to Grand Bend on June 10. Please let me know if you are doing this\, so we can plan our group size from Prudhommes Landing. \nPlease contact Craig Gemmel at events@niagaracorvetteclub.com with any questions.
